As the first full month of Fall and the beginning of the holiday season, October is an eventful month. In addition to Columbus Day (Weekend) and Halloween, there are a variety of law enforcement-related “holidays” and month-long observances, such as National First Responders Day (October 28) and National Crime Prevention Month.

Check out our highlighted content opportunities for the month of October:

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic violence affects not only married couples and their families but those that have any socialization with romantic partners, serious or casual, including teenagers. Translation: anybody can become a victim of dating or intimate partner violence (IPV). Educate your community on the types of IPV, warning signs, statistics, and resources from our collection of graphics on LAW Digital

National Cyber Security Month

Staying safe in cyberspace has become more and more complex. Where once creating a strong password for online accounts was the only safety tip needed, features like multi-factor authentication and constantly updating software have become necessities. Share more tips to keep your community digitally secure on all fronts, including on social networking sites, over the telephone, and via e-mail.

National Teen Driver Safety Week (October 16-22)

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 2,276 people were killed in crashes involving a teen driver in 2020, and distracted driving is one of the leading causes of incidents involving teen drivers. Find various graphics surrounding distracted driving and other transportation safety tips in our digital catalog.

Red Ribbon Week (October 23-31)

Each year, Red Ribbon Week takes place during the last seven days of October. Since 1985, Red Ribbon Week has aided in the fight against illegal drugs. Over the years, the campaign has expanded to educate communities on the effects of not only harmful drug use but also alcohol use, particularly among teens and young adults. Social media is a valuable tool for spreading awareness. Explore a wide host of graphics on drug and alcohol use and addiction on our platform, LAW Digital.
